About Us

Mission

The mission of Christ the King Dorchester is to extend the Kingdom of God throughout Dorchester and beyond.

We know that our God rules and reigns. However we know that because of sin and brokenness in this world, His reign and rule in particular areas is not apparent. Our mission is to see God's rule and reign become increasingly evident.

Vision

The vision of Christ the King Dorchester is to be a gospel driven, multi-ethnic, community-based church striving to love the city where our members live, work, and play.

Values

The congregation is defined by four core values.  Click the links below for more information.

  1. Kingdom of God Focused: Luke 4:14-21
  2. Jesus Christ Centered: 1 Cor 2:1-5
  3. Holy Spirit Empowered: Psalm 127:1
  4. Church 7 Days A Week: Acts 2:44-47

Staff

Pastor: Dan Rogers
Dan has been involved in full-time ministry for over 16 years.  A former University of Georgia football player, Dan joined staff with Athletes in Action after college.  He and his wife spent 9 years ministering to college and professional athletes and coaches around the country before moving to Greeley, CO to assist in church planting.  In 2006, they moved to Athens, GA to help organize outreach at a local congregation while completing his M.Div from Reformed Theological Seminary.  In 2008 Dan received a call to become the lead pastor and church planter of Christ the King Dorchester. Dan, his wife, and their five children love this city, and it is Dan's hope to give his life away loving and serving the people of the community.

Assistant Pastor: Logan Keck
Logan and his family have lived in the Boston area since 2005. He is a graduate of Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary and the University of North Carolina. In 2007 he and his wife felt called to plant chuches in the Boston area, and shortly thereafter joined the effort at Christ the King Dorchester.  Since moving to the neighborhood Logan's life has been deeply enriched and impacted by the people in the community.  He and his wife love having people in their home and sharing life with their neighbors. Logan's deep desire is to see people set free from the burden of sin by believing the good news of the grace of Jesus Christ.

Music Director: Emmanuel Blethy
Born in Ivory Coast (West Africa) Emmanuel started playing the piano at the age of seven. Six years later, he was one of most hired musicians in the country.  Emmanuel went on his first international tour at 18 with the well known African gospel band l’Arbre de Vie. A year later he moved to Maryland with his family. In Washington DC Emmanuel led a church choir, and played with jazz, R&B, rock and fusion bands throughout the area.  In 2009, Emmanuel moved to Boston to attend Berklee College of Music, and joined the staff of Christ the King. He desires to use his diverse musical background to draw many different types of people into worship. Click here to listen to a sample from Jazz on Pleasant.
