Christ the King Dorchester is entering a month of dialogue, teaching, and shared experiences to celebrate Black History Month. Together, we will celebrate the Black Church’s significance to the American experience, dialogue about the Christian’s role in the current cultural landscape, and consider our own church’s past, present, and future in regards to race, repentance, and reconciliation.

The month will be built around dialogue within our Community Groups, which will focus on the themes of Worship, Learning, Repentance, and Action. So if you are not part of a Community Group yet, this is a great time to join!

There will also be special all-church events that will build on these conversations:

  • Sunday, February 11th at 10am - Empowerment Christian Church, one of our neighborhood church partners, is welcoming us to join their morning worship service. They meet at the Boy's & Girl's Club at 115 Warren Ave. in Roxbury. Come and join us in worship!
  • Saturday, Feb. 17th at 2pm - An open dialogue and listening session about our own church's past, present, and future in regards to race, repentance, and reconciliation. Come ready to listen and to share.
  • Thursday, Mar. 1st at 6:30pm - Our church will end the month with a time of corporate prayer as a church community, as we reflect on what we have learned and look forward to what God is doing next.
